Fylde Council has approved the most ambitious leisure investment in its history — a £9.3 million package to transform both St Annes Pool and Kirkham Baths.

Full Council gave the green light on 27th January to completely modernise St Annes Pool with new leisure facilities including a gym, health suite, indoor splash pad and café. Kirkham Baths will be fully restored with a reconditioned pool and new fitness suite, bringing swimming back to rural Fylde and protecting the building’s historic features where possible.

Places Leisure, part of Places for People, has been confirmed as the operator for both facilities under a 15-year contract, beginning 1 April 2026. The investment is expected to save over £600,000 across the life of the contract compared to current budget provisions.

This decision delivers on Fylde Council’s commitment to provide high-quality, sustainable leisure facilities that support the health and wellbeing of residents across the borough.
