Big Wins for Fylde Jobs – Our Partnership is Changing Lives! 🎉
We’ve got something worth shouting about – in just three months, our employment and skills partnership with AFC Fylde Community Foundation has already helped 11 local residents land jobs with amazing employers like BAE Systems, Mill Farm Sports Village, and other brilliant Fylde businesses.
And that’s only the start. Thanks to £167,650 from Fylde’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, we’re giving real opportunities to 56 residents through three targeted programmes.
Here’s what’s been happening:
💼 Fylde Focus 19+ – 9 people are now in work! Roles range from cyber security whizz to teaching assistant, proving that when the right support meets the right talent, great things happen.
📚 Apprenticeships – 2 locals have joined Fylde Rugby Foundation and The Bell and Bottle, ready to start their qualifications in September 2025.
🏠 Fylde Focus at Harbour House – 9 homeless residents are getting personalised employability support delivered directly where they live.
👩🎓 16-18 NEET Programme – 12 young people are being helped into training and work so they can start building their futures today.
It’s not just about numbers – it’s about people finding independence, confidence, and new paths forward. Cllr Karen Buckley, Leader of Fylde Borough Council, supported the initiative saying:
“Every placement represents a resident gaining financial independence and local businesses finding the staff they need.”
And from Chris Brannigan, AFC Fylde Community Foundation CEO:
“Together, we’re breaking down barriers to employment and connecting Fylde residents with local businesses for sustainable, long-term opportunities.”
We’re not slowing down – these programmes run until March 2026, with even more apprenticeships coming up at places like The Clifton Arms, Kenyon Dental Surgery, and Clifford Plumbing.
👏 Here’s to more jobs, more skills, and more success for Fylde!
